On January 12, 2000, the USPS issued a set of fifteen stamps to represent the decade of the 1980's. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp for one of these stamps - Hip-Hop Culture - cancelled from the city of issue (Titusville, FL) on the first day of issue captioned above. This set of stamps is part of a larger set consisting of 150 stamps - 15 for each decade - called Celebrate the Century.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features L.L. Cool, a leader of the hip-hop style revolution, encompassing music, dance, and fashion.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
