Mother Hen with a quizzical, almost dazed look on her face is standing guard over her brood of eleven chicks, each displaying its own personality. This is one of those pieces of art you'll treasure more with each passing year. I have it in my kitchen and never get tired of looking at it.
The print is joined by three uncancelled, collectible, historic postal stamps. The brown stamp on the left is a 1948 stamp commemorating the Centennial of the Poultry Industry, and, on the right is a blue 1953 stamp celebrating Future Farmers of America. The full-color middle stamp is from Ireland and features two fluffly chicks...when you combine these two on the stamp with the eleven on the print, it adds up to a real 'baker's dozen.'
Matted in blue, it's sized to fit a standard 11 x 14 picture frame.
