Hedgehog.... On October 5, 1977, Great Britain issued a stamp to commemorate the Hedgehog
- that prickly, lovable animal whose puffing, coughing and sneezing can
be heard over great distances across the English countryside. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Edinburgh) on the first day of issue highlighted above.
The cachet
(artwork on the envelope) features a compelling frontal view of this
diminutive animal on the forest floor, while the stamp shows it from the
side. The company that produced this cover has also written a
commentary about the hedgehog, which we've included.
Historic, collectible, great artwork, this over sized envelope is matted in green and will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
