On March 17, 1989, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard with the imprint or 'stamp' commemorating the Iolani Palace in Honolulu, Hawaii. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, the postcard with the full-color imprint or 'stamp,' cancelled from the city of issue (Honolulu, HI) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) features a view of the Palace; it's printed on silk, the luster lending an almost three dimensional look to the picture.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
