On August 21, 1959, the USPS issued an airmail stamp to commemorate Hawaiian Admittance to Statehood on this same date. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Honolulu, HI) on the first day of issue captioned above. At the bottom of the envelope is a Combo - it's a first day of issue cancellation for the Hawaiian State Bird & Flower stamp on April 14, 1982. The addition of the 1976 Hawaiian State Flag stamp, which was cancelled along with the Bird & Flower stamp makes this a Combo. So, technically it's Dual 1st Day Cover with Combo.....bottom line: it's a 'good thing!'
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) shows the Hawaiian landmark, Diamondhead.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
