HAWAII State Flag Hawaiian Islands 1976 1st Day Cover Hawaii State FLAG Stamp

On February 23, 1976, the USPS issued a set of 50 stamps commemorating the 50 State Flags in the Bicentennial Year.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp with the Hawaii State Flag cancelled from the city of issue (Honolulu, HI) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) shows a layout of the Hawaiian Islands with the capital Honolulu marked with the State Flag.  The picture is printed on silk, the luster lending an-almost three dimensional look to the picture.
