Harriet Tubman and "The Last Journey"......
On February 1, 1978, the USPS issued a stamp to honor Harriet Tubman, whose valiant efforts led run-away slaves through the "Underground" Railroad" to freedom in the North and Canada. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp, depicting Harriet Tubman and a cart of runaway slaves on their journey north, cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above. The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a stylized portrait of Tubman. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
The full-color art print features a work by artist Jacob Lawrence titled "The Last Journey." It's one of seventeen paintings he did for the book Harriet and the Promised Land. It's matted in blue, with the print double matted in blue and white, and sized to fit a standard 11x14 frame. At Wall Art Collectibles, we always mat to standard sizes allowing you to select the frame of your choice.
