The US postal stamp for the Green Bay Packers Legendary Coach Vince Lombardi was issued individually on August 5, 1997 after having been issued with three other football coaches (George Halas, Bear Bryant, and Pop Warner) a month before on July 25, 1997 out of Canton, Ohio. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope cancelled from the city of issue (Green Bay, WI) on the first day of issue captioned above. If you look closely at this stamp, there is a red line above Lombardi's name. On his stamp issued in July 1997, there is no red line. This is true for the stamps of the other three coaches.

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Lombardi; it's printed on silk surrounded by gold embossing. The only other Professional Football Coach to be honored with a stamp to date is George Halas. With six division championships, five NFL championships, and victories in the first and second Superbowl, it's easy to see why his name will forever be revered by Packer fans.

Double matted in green and white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
