In 1998 the USPS issued a set of 15 stamps to celebrate the decade of the 1930's.  These 15 were part of an even bigger set encompassing all 10 decades called Celebrate the Century.  There was a voting process to determine which events would represent each decade.  From the 1930's the publication of the book Gone With the Wind was selected for its immediate popularity (over a million and a half copies sold in the first year!), its winning the Pulitzer Prize for fiction in 1937, and, of course, its being made into one of the most beloved movies of all time.

Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope featuring the stamp depicting the book cancelled from the city of issue (Cleveland, Ohio) on the first day of issue (September 10, 1998.)  The cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows some of the other events that celebrated the 1930's.  Collectible, historic, this cover is a real conversation piece to add to anyone's GWTW collection.

Double matted in green & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.  ****Certificate of Authenticity Included ***
