On June 13, 1988, the USPS honored Francis D. Ouimet with a stamp. At the age of 20 he won the U.S. Open as an amateur by defeating the two leading British professionals of the day. The envelope features his stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Brookline, MA) on the first day of issue captioned above. The addition of the 1981 Bobby Jones and Babe Zaharias stamps make this a Combo...these two stamps were added along with the Ouimet stamp and then all three were cancelled on the 'birthday' of the Ouimet stamp.

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts Ouimet.  It's printed on silk, the luster adding an almost three-dimensional quality to the picture. This cover-Combo has all the bells & whistles...a beautiful silk cachet, a Combo with the only three U.S. golfers to have stamps, unaddressed and in perfect condition. It's truly a spectacular gift for any golfer.

Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
