Golf Courses Canada 1ST Day Postal Cover 5 Stamps... On June 6, 1995, Canada issued five stamps to celebrate Golf. Shown here is a genuine 1st Day Postal Cover with all five stamps in the series - Glen Abbey Golf Club, Victoria Golf Club, The Royal Montreal Golf Club (the oldest in North America), Riverside Country Club, and Banff Spring Golf Club.
The
cachet (artwork on the envelope) features three players on the green.
The sepia photo at the bottom depicts Royal Montreal club members circa
1881. The back of the envelope has a brief commentary about golf in
Canada as well as a color photo of the Banff course. The envelope will
be mounted using acid free clear corner mounts to preserve its mint
condition.
