On June 15, 1979, the USPS issued a stamp to honor the 50th anniversary of the first Guide Dog school established in the U.S. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover with the stamp depicting a German Shepherd cancelled from the city of issue (Morristown, NJ) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a close-up picture of a German Shepherd and his lifelong companion.
