On January 20, 1960, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the Credo of George Washington: "Observe Good Faith and Justice Toward All Nations." Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope showing the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Mt. Vernon, Va.) on the first day of issue captioned above. The addition of two older stamps (a 1 cent stamp of Washington and a 1 1/2 cents stamp of Mt. Vernon both issued in 1956) which were cancelled along with the Credo Stamp make this Cover a Combo.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Washington and an inset of Mt. Vernon. This is a collectible, historic piece of Presidential memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
