On May 26, 1928, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the encampment of George Washington at Valley Forge. Shown here is a genuine Commemorative Cover celebrating the 1928 Valley Forge stamp, with the postmark "freezing" the day (May 26) and the place (Valley Forge) where the stamp was issued. On a commemorative cover, the stamp at the upper right serves the purpose of supplying current postage, for without it the post office will not furnish a cancellation.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the 1928 stamp displayed in mint condition. We have added two other Washington stamps - the 4 cents Credo stamp issued in 1960 and the 5 cents Washington stamp issued in 1962.
Matted in blue, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.
