On June 30, 1992, the Pitcairn Islands issued a set of stamps commemorating several Sharks. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp depicting the Galapagos Shark cancelled from the city of issue (Adamstown, Pitcairn Islands) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a drawing of the sleek, powerful Galapagos Shark. The producer of this cover has also written a brief commentary about the Galapagos Shark, which we've included.
