On July 7, 1989, the Federated States of Micronesia issued a set of stamps commemorating several Sharks found in tropical waters. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp depicting the Great White Shark cancelled from the city of issue (Pohnpei Caroline, FM) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features an underwater scene and two Great White Sharks , one of the most vicious sea animals. The producer of this cover has also written a brief commentary about the Great White, which we've included.
