On September 23, 1983, the United Nations issued a stamp honoring the Kingdom of Great Britain, with a stamp depicting the National Flag of Great Britain. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (United Nations, New York) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the special cancellation designed to cancel this stamp on its 'birthday.'
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) celebrates the many facets of Great Britain - from its bagpipes to Shakespeare, to double-decker buses to its castles. The company that produced this cover has also included a brief commentary about Great Britain, which we've included.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
