Gerald R. Ford... On August 9, 1974, Gerald R. Ford was sworn in as the 38th President of the United States to finish the term left vacant by the resignation of Richard Nixon. Shown here is a genuine Commemorative Inaugural Cover with the postmark "freezing" the date and place that the inauguration occurred. The "stamp" (an imprinted Liberty Bell) furnished current postage, for without it, the post office would not cancel.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Ford with the Presidential Seal. Collectible, historic, this is one of many items of Presidential Memorabilia offered by Postal Stamp Art.
Double matted in blue & white, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.
