Gerald R. Ford......
On January 3, 2007, more than 75,000 residents of Grand Rapids, MI, the boyhood home of the 38th President of the United States Gerald R. Ford, turned out to say farewell as he was laid to rest on the grounds of his Presidential Library. Shown here is a Commemorative Postal Cover with the postmark "freezing" the date and place that the burial took place. The "stamp" (The Statue of Libert against the American Flag) furnished current postage, for without it, the post office would not cancel.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a photo portrait of Ford with the American Flag behind him. It's printed on silk, the luster lending an-almost three dimensional quality to the picture. Collectible, historic, this is one of many items of Presidential Memorabilia offered by Postal Stamp Art.
Double matted in blue & white, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.
