On January 6, 1988, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 200th Anniversary of the Statehood of Georgia. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the full-color stamp depicting a live oak festooned with Spanish moss cancelled from the city of issue (Atlanta, GA) on the first day of issue captioned above.  Note the special postmark designed to cancel this stamp on its 'birthday.'

The color cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) depicts the state of Georgia and the State Flag of Georgia printed on lustrous silk.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
