Frank Lloyd Wright - Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.....
In 1959 the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum opened in New York City. Designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the
interior, featuring a circular ramp coiling around a space topped by a
glass dome, is the perfect space to house an art collection. Shown here
is a print showing Frank Lloyd Wright's drawing of the Guggenheim...a
Perspective: night rendering, the original measuring 40x25 1/2 in. -
watercolor and tempera on black illustration board. It
is joined by a large stamp depicting a black and white photo of the
ramp and glass dome as viewed from the bottom looking up. It was issued
2005 in a set of twelve stamps titled 'Masterworks of Modern American Architecture.'
Matted in blue, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. *Note: See our other Frank Lloyd Wright architectural drawing of Fallingwater combined with a Fallingwater stamp.
