On June 26,1998, the USPS issued a set of four stamps to honor four Folk Musicians..... Woody Guthrie, Josh White, Leadbelly, and Sonny Terry. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp for Woody Guthrie cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) depicts a group of folk musicians making music on the front porch. Historic, collectible, this is a great piece of Folk Music and postal memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
