American Fishing Flies.... On May 31, 1991, the USPS issued a set of five stamps commemorating famous American Fishing Flies - Royal Wulff, Jock Scott, Apte Tarpon Fly, Lefty's Deceiver, and Muddler Minnow. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover with all five stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Cuddebackville, NY) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a full-color picture of a fishing fly being manipulated over an unsuspecting fish. This historic, collectible cover is paired with a lush full-color art print depicting two fishermen fly fishing in a clear stream. The producer of this cover has written a short history of fly fishing on the back of the envelope. We have made a copy for you.
Matted in green, we have matted this piece to fit a standard 11 x 14 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
