On February 1, 1980, the USPS issued an imprinted postcard with the imprint or "stamp" commemorating Women's Figure Skating. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover cancelled from the city of issue (Lake Placid, NY) on the first day of issue captioned above. If the year 1980 and the place, Lake Placid, is ringing a bell, these are the Olympic Games that witnessed the US upsetting the Soviet Union for the Hockey Gold Medal.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a woman skater. Historic, collectible, this is truly a great piece of Skating Memorabilia. The producer of this cover has written a short commentary about figure skating...a copy has been included for you.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included ***
