In 1992, the company of Fleetwood produced a set of Commemorative Covers celebrating U.S. Military Aircraft. Shown here is the one for the F-16 Fighting Falcon, first built by General Dynamics in 1975 and used extensively by the U.S. Air Force.
On a commemorative cover, the stamp is immaterial; it's only there because the Post Office will not cancel unless there is current postage. The cancellation shows the stamp cancelled from Ft. Worth, Texas, Januaary 20, 1992. The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a stunning picture of an F-16 on a bombing raid.
Matted in blue, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. A short blurb on the F-16 is included.
