On April 20, 1978, the Post Office of the then USSR issued a set of stamps commemorating Historic Russian Locomotives.  A Freight Locomotive from 1863 is shown here on this envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Moscow) on the first day of issue captioned above. The full-color stamp is spectacular and so is the special cancellation.

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the locomotive. Great art, unaddressed, the fact that this stamp was issued by the Soviet Union make this cover is a collectible, historic piece of railroad and postal memorabilia.

Double matted in green & white, this piece will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included plus a commentary on this locomotive***
