FREDERICK DOUGLAS Abolitionist 1st Day Postal Cover....

On June 29, 1995, the USPS issued a set of twenty stamps to commemorate the American Civil War.  Shown here is a genuine 1st Day Postal Cover - an envelope with one of these stamps honoring abolitionist and  advisor to President Lincoln - Frederick Douglas, cancelled from the city of issue (Gettysburg, PA) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts a photo of Douglas.  The company that produced this cover has also written a commentary about Frederick Douglas, which we've included.

Matted in blue and white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame.   ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
