On June 4, 1996, the Marshall Islands issued a set of stamps commemorating 100 Years on the Road with Ford. One of thse cars was the Ford Taurus, a mid-sized sedan whose sculpted, sleek shape captured the imagination of the car-buying public. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Majuro) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features the Taurus. Great art, unaddressed, this cover is a collectible, historic piece of automobile and postal memorabilia.
