On March 3, 1945, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Statehood for the State of Florida. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Tallahassee, FL) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The blue and red cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) shows the State Capitol Building in Tallahassee as well as the Great Seal of Florida. In 1945, the majority of First Day Covers were addressed; this one is no exception. We have covered up the address with two uncancelled 1945 Florida Centennial Stamps to make this cover more visually appealing. Historic, collectible, this matted cover represents a beautiful way to display a piece of Florida Memorabilia on your wall.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
