On December 5, 1947, the USPS issued a stamp commemorating the dedication of Everglades National Park in Florida. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Florda City, FL) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope produced by a private company, not the post office) shows a native Floridian poling his boat through the Florida Everglads while a heron looks on. This is a great piece of Florida, National Park, and Water and Wildlife Conservation Memorabilia.
Double matted in green & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
