On April 26, 1990, the USPS issued a set of five stamps celebrating FIVE COASTAL AMERICAN LIGHTHOUSES ...West Quoddy Head, Sandy Hook, Cape Hateras, American Shoals, and Admiralty Head. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with all five stamps cancelled from the city of issue (Washington, DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts all five lighthouses, from the easternmost tip of the US in Maine, down through the mid-Atlantic states, to the southeastern tip of Florida, back around and up to the entrance to the Puget Sound in the Pacific Northwest. Unaddressed first day covers with the complete set of 1990 Coastal Lighthouse Stamps are getting hard to find. This is a great piece of collectible lighthouse memorabilia.
Matted in blue, this item is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
