On October 6, 1967, the USPS issued a stamp to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the Independence of Finland. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Finland, MN) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Marshal Mannerheim, Supreme Commander of the Finnish Army and champion of Finnish Liberty.
