In 1980, the cachet maker Fleetwood produced a series of Commemorative Covers highlighting Historic Events in U.S. History featuring the artwork of Mort Kunstler. Shown here is the cover for the First Fireside Chat given by President Roosevelt on March 12, 1933 from the White House. On a Commemorative Cover the purpose of the postmark is to "freeze" the time and place of a particular event....in this case, the day of March 12th and the place of Washington D.C. The two stamps that are being cancelled (the U.S. Flag and one of the four In Memoriam stamps issued for FDR in 1946) supply current postage.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows FDR in front of radio microphones. Wall Art Collectibles is proud to offer this historic, collectible piece of U.S. Presidential Memorabilia.
Matted in blue, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.
