On May 28, 1998, the USPS issued a set of fifteen stamps chosen to represent the decade of the 1920's in its 150 stamp series called 'Celebrate the Century.' Shown here is the stamp commemorating EMILY POST'S ETIQUETTE on a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Chicago, Il) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts several aspects of etiquette, from the way we eat, to sending flowers, to writing thank-you notes, to the proper way to word wedding invitations. The colorful stamp illustrates a correctly set place-setting. The producer of this cover has also written a short commentary about the woman who defined modern good manners and conduct.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
