Empire State Bulding - Observatory.....
In 1930-31, photographer Lewis Hine took several photos chronicling the construction of, at that time, the tallest building in the world, the Empire State Building. Captured here in this photo print is the construction of the frame of the observatory tower. It's paired with an uncancelled, historical stamp commemorating the Empire State Building and the beginning of modern skyscrapers - one of fifteen events chosen to represent the decade of the 1930's in the 'Celebrate the Century' series.
Matted in blue, it's sized to fit a standard 8 X 10 frame.
