OK, you have a First day Cover of the Elvis Stamp issued from Memphis January 8, 1993, and you're thinking, " I've got the piece of U.S. Postal Memorabilia for Elvis."  Well, you do, but you don't!  We believe that the stamp issued from Memphis is the more important stamp since it was the 1st one issued for Elvis and it was issued for him alone.  However, six months later, Elvis was honored with a second U.S. stamp.  It was one of a series of seven stamps issued to commemorate Rock & Roll/Rhythm & Blues Artists

Right about now you're taking a peek at the picture below and you're saying,"Yea, it's the same stamp."  Not too fast, grasshopper....look at the name on this stamp...it's Elvis Presley.  Now go to the First Day Cover of the Memphis stamp......Ah ha!  Gotcha!

So, shown here is the First Day Cover of the Elvis stamp issued as a part of a series cancelled from the cities of issue (Cleveland and Santa Monica, and yes, sometimes stamps are issued from multiple cities) on the first day of issue (June 16, 1993.)

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a great portrait of Elvis.  Also note the clever cancellation.  Double matted in blue & white, this piece will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included plus a short bio on Elvis***
