On September 10,1998, the USPS issued a set of fifteen stamps commemorating people and events to represent the decade of the 1930's. One of the people honored was Eleanor Roosevelt for her championing the rights of women, youths , minorities, and the disadvantaged. Shown here is a genuine FIRST DAY COVER, an envelope with the new stamp depicting Eleanor being presented with a bouquet of flowers from a young black girl, cancelled from the CITY OF ISSUE (Cleveland, Ohio) on the FIRST DAY OF ISSUE captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Roosevelt with the White House in the background. The picture is printed on silk, the luster lending an-almost three dimensional look to the cachet. Historic, collectible, this piece is one of many honoring great Americans, brought to you by Wall Art Collectibles.
Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY INCLUDED***
