Dwight D. Eisenhower.... On May 10, 1971, the USPS honored President Dwight D. Eisenhower with a stamp. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above. The addition of three older stamps (Kansas Territory Centennial in 1954, the U.S. Flag in 1959, and the National Capital Sesquicentennial featuring the White House in 1950) make this cover a Combo. These three older stamps were added to the envelope along with the new one and then all four were cancelled on the first day of issue of the 8 cents Eisenhower stamp.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of the Eisenhowers. Unaddressed, historic, collectible, this cover is a great piece of U.S. Presidential Memorabilia.
Double matted in dark green & maroon, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity included***
