President Eisenhower.... On October 14, 1969, the USPS issued an In Memoriam stamp to honor the 34rd President of the United States, Dwight D. Eisenhower. Every President is honored with a stamp within a year of their death and usually on their birthday. (Eisenhower was born October 14, 1890.) Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Abilene, Kansas) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The black & white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Eisenhower. Unaddressed, historic, collectible, this cover is a great piece of U.S. Presidential Memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity included***
