On October 20, 1977, the USPS issued a two stamps to call attention to Energy Conservation and Energy Development. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp for Energy Development cancelled from the city of issue (Washington DC) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) depicts the sun separtated from the atom by a lightning bolt. It's printed on silk, the color lending an-almost three dimensional quality to the picture. Whether oil, natural gas, solar, wind, or nuclear...energy development remains one of the world's most pressing challenges.
Double matted in blue and white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
