On September 20, 2002, the USPS issued a pair of stamps commemorating and calling attention to Spaying and Neutering one's pet. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover for the Dog stamp -the other stamp features a Kitten-cancelled from the city of issue (New York City) on the first day of issue captioned above. The addition of four older stamps to the envelope and then cancelled on the first day of issue of the new stamp make this a Combo - the whipped cream and cherry on top of a first day cover.  The older stamps are the 13 cents Puppy-Kitten stamp issued for Christmas 11/03/82; the 20 cents McGruff, Crime Dog issued 9/26/84; the 15 cents Seeing Eye Dog issued 6/15/79; and, the 5 cents Humane Treatment of Animals issued 4/09/66.

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a dog and kitten rendered in watercolor.

Matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  *** Certificate of Authenticity Included***
