On March 3, 1971, Canada issued a stamp to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Discovery of Insulin, and to honor the Nobel Laureate who was one of the co-discoverers of insulin, Frederick G. Banting. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Ottawa, Ontario) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) shows a portrait of Banting as well as Banting in his lab.  Historic, collectible, this cover represents just one of many in our Medical Category.

Double matted in blue & white, it's sized to fit a standard 8x10 frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
