On June 10, 1991, New York City hosted a Welcome Home Parade to honor the Armed Forces who had participated in Operation Desert Storm. Shown here is a Commemorative Cover 'freezing' the place (New York, NY), on the date (captioned above) that the parade took place. Note the special postmark which says, "New York City Honors the Armed Forces" On a commemorative cover, the stamp only serves to furnish current postage, for without it, the post office would not affix the cancellation.
Double matted in blue & white, we've sized this piece to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.
