On May 27, 1975,the USPS issued a stamp to honor the motion picture pioneer, director, producer, and founder of United Artists...D.W. Griffith. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with his stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Beverly Hills, CA) on the first day of issue, captioned above.
The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a photo of Griffith as well as some biographical material. The producer of this cover has also written a brief commentary about Griffith which we've included. Collectible, historic, this is a MUST-HAVE for anyone's Movie Memorabilia.
Double matted in blue & white, this piece is sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame. ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
