Prevent Drug Abuse.....

On October 4, 1971, the USPS issued a stamp to call attention to, at that time, over 100,000 Americans with an addiction to narcotics.  Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the new stamp cancelled from the city of issue (Dallas, TX) on the first day of issue captioned above.

The black and white cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a hand holding a needle and the words, "Conquer Drug Addiction - over 100,000 Americans lead totally unproductive lives because of their addiction to narcotics."

DOUBLE MATTED IN BLUE & WHITE THIS PIECE IS SIZED TO FIT A STANDARD 8 X 10 FRAME. ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
