Diabetes Awareness... On March16, 2001, the USPS
issued a stamp to call attention to Diabetes. Shown
here is a genuine First Day Cover,
an envelope with the new stamp
cancelled from the city of
issue (Boston, MA) on the first day of issue captioned above.
The beautiful color cachet (artwork on the
envelope) shows a diabetic pricking the finger as well as a couple
riding bikes to symbolize the importance of exercise, and healthy foods
to show the importance of eating right. The picture is printed on silk surrounded by an
embossed gold border. Double matted in
green and
