On June 27, 2001, the USPS issued a set of ten stamps to commemorate Ten Classic Ballparks. Shown here is the stamp commemorating 'beautiful Wrigley Field' and it's paired with a most unusual photograph. In anticipation of the lighting of Wrigley Field, fans and umpires assembled in 1987 armed with flashlights, and this historic photo, with the help of a full moon, was taken. A year later on August 9, 1988, the first night game was played, making Wrigley the last ballpark to become lighted. Actually, the first night game was to have been the previous evening, 8/8/88, but it was rained out.
Matted in blue, it's sized to fit a standard 8 x 10 frame.
