The USPS issued a stamp in 2001 honoring American composer and conductor of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, Leonard Bernstein. Best known for his music for West Side Story, Bernstein wrote countless other works. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with Bernstein's stamp cancelled form the city of issue (New York City) on the first day of issue (July 10, 2001.)
