On April 13, 2004, the USPS issued a stamp to honor the brilliant composer and musical arranger of film and television, Henry Mancini.  From "Moon River" to the score for the "Pink Panther," many of our most-loved movies and television shows were enhanced my Mancini's scores. Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with his stamp (with the Pink Panther in the lower left corner) cancelled form the city of issue (Los Angeles, CA) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the special postmark featuring Mancini's signature and a musical bar used to cancel his stamp on its 'birthday.'

The addition of the three older stamps make this a Combo...an extra-special first day cover.  These three stamps were added to the envelope uncancelled and were then cancelled along with the new stamp on April 13, 2004. The American Music stamp was issued in 10/15/64.  Both Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn starred in the movie "Charade" for which Mancini wrote the score.  Hepburn also starred in "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "Wait Until Dark", and "Two for the Road"...three more films featuring music by Mancini.

The cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a black & white photo of Mancini, chosen by his family to appear on this cover.  It's printed on silk, with his name appearing on the bottom in 'pink'...the 'panther' would be proud!'

Double matted in blue & white, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity Included***
