On September 11, 1996, the USPS issued a set of four stamps honoring American Composers/Lyricists, who gave us such wonderful standards as "One for My Baby", "On the Sunny Side of the Street", "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". and "Stardust." Shown here is a genuine First Day Cover, an envelope with the stamp celebrating gifted composer of Broadway and Hollywood, Harold Arlen, cancelled form the city of issue (New York City) on the first day of issue captioned above. Note the special postmark designed for the cancellation of this set of stamps on their 'birthday.'

The full-color cachet (artwork on the envelope) features a portrait of Arlen at his desk composing. The producer of this cover has written a brief commentary, which we've included.  A collectible, historic piece of American Music memorabilia, this cover pays tribute to one of the musicians who gave the world 'The American Popular Song.'

Double matted in blue & white, it will fit a standard 8 x 10 picture frame.  ***Certificate of Authenticity plus Commentary Included***
